Maxxed Out Cowl Reveal!

This is crocheting in a chunky maxxed out way so may I present the Namaste Maxxed Out Cowl: double stranded aran-weight wool acrylic blend yarn crocheted with a super chunky hook in a textured lace pattern double wrapped around the neck. The pattern will be released next week!

Yardage:

I am happy to report the following: I won at Yarn Chicken! Full use of 3 balls Namaste from Scheepjes with 3-4 g to spare …and I tend to find my testers and other makers generally use a tiny bit less yarn than me so I think we are good!

The #maxxedoutcowl is a quick project and the stitches are not very complicated. Using such a large hook might take a bit of getting used to, but I think it feels very satisfying to use – probably because the cowl is complete in no-time-flat!

I like the squish, it’s definitely very warm when double wrapped around the neck if its winter and can also be used in a less intense way draped with the V-point at the back under a jacket and draped with the twist at the front for the transitional seasons.

My friend Mariana of Sweet Crochet Dreams tested the cowl in Namaste 617 Bridge

which looks regal and earthy at the same time!

I am finalising the pattern documents and Dieuwke Visser is translating it into Dutch as we speak! Next week you will find the pattern available for free here on my blog in both English (UK) and Dutch, or the ad-free PDF versions will be available for a small fee via Ravelry and my Etsy stores!

Scheepjes Namaste can be found at these affiliate stores*

Caros Atelier (in the Netherlands)

And from many other Scheepjes retailers

Given the palette of neutrals, pastels and bejewelled tones available in Namaste you can be as colourful or pared back as you like. Here is the full range again:

I hope you will enjoy making your own Maxxed Out Cowl – be sure to check back next week, or you can subscribe if you don’t want to miss a post!
